RPNYC Spring Series (Best of Race 1)

- Saturday was something of a landmark in my short and chequered sailing photography career, as it was the first time I shot from on the water - particular thanks to Kyle for sorting that one out, and to the Te Ruru crew for their excellent chase boat skills. Anyway, wielding a 300mm telephoto lens whilst bobbing about on the water proved to be a little interesting at times...

- The race started out in 15 knots, enough to put the yachts' rails under as they came in to the top mark. Pretty Boy Floyd led the fleet at the first mark...

- ...with Andiamo next

- St Laurence approaching the top mark

- The Guarantee was back in the fleet after a slow start

- Esprit's skipper keeping a close eye on the 1st mark

- St Laurence had sped off over the horizon by the time we reached the 2nd mark

- MRX vs Interislander

- Underworld drifts along as the wind dies north of Soames Is.

- Blue Magic, Esprit, and Eat My Shorts in close proximity
