1 - A quick look at my image archive revealed that I bought my first digital camera (Panasonic FZ-20) three years ago this month. Here are two shots from my first photo mission around the Manurewa botanical gardens...

2 - it's in the 'look at the old photo and cringe' box, but this is the earliest shot that I have on file - no. 19, "Study of Duck and Grass" (14 October, 2004). I guess I had to start somewhere :) The little Panasonic was a perfect place to start - a very nice Leica zoom lens (36 - 420mm, f2.8 constant), manual controls, and a grid thing you could turn on and off to help you compose in thirds. Oh, and a great feature called 'warm mode', which turned your photos a pleasant shade of orange. They don't make them like they used to (actually, they do)...
