1 - The Wellington Firefighter Combat Challenge (dubbed "the toughest two minutes in sport" - which seems about right) ran during Saturday, I went along for a couple of hours to see what I could see...
2 - this would've been a good camera position, but no luck...
3 - Firemen race two at a time up this structure...

6 - ...and then haul another hose up hand over hand...
7 - following their descent, they bash this metal weight along the rail...
8 - ...and then take off (slalom style) down the course...

17 - ...and then finish (themselves) off by hauling the 80kg dummy for 32 metres

25 - a lot of the solo contestants seemed to be pretty stuffed by the end - the fastest guys finished in just over 2 min.
New Zealand record = 1 min 57 seconds
World record = 1 min 17 seconds.
