1 - My first visit to Tallinn's 'Old Town' was hampered somewhat by freezing temperatures and a lot of ice and snow about the place. Everything was covered in a rather cold grey murk, which lent a kind of dark characterfulness to the place...
The evening featured a pre doctoral colloquium dinner, and a chance to meet some of my fellow attendees, followed by a return to my hotel and a few hours of worrying about the next day's presentation to the dreaded panel.
