The Soup @ The Moorings Ballroom
1 - The Soup (Jess Chambers, Hannah Howes (album release this Friday), Mara TK, Maz Herman, and Ben Wood) got together at The Moorings Ballroom (a rather old and charming manor in Thorndon) to showcase some new work from their various solo enterprises. Also in evidence were Tim Beals, sitting behind the sound desk, and Pat Shepherd (of Exposure Lifestyles fame and an excellent photographer).

Peter and Emily's Wedding
Saturday (March 14th) featured the wedding of Peter and Emily, with a bit of help from Groomsmen Stephen and Mike, and Bridesmaids Deborah and Anna. Eagle eyed blog readers will recognise many of the cast of characters from a previous wedding. The ceremony and reception were held at the Stanley Bowling and Petanque Club in Devonport.

Skating into an Abstraction
1 - I stumbled across a random skater competition today - I only had my old 18-70 kit lens with me (I almost always shoot wide or long, so it hardly gets used), so it seemed like a reasonable opportunity to try some photos with edges...

Wellington Dragonboat Festival 2009
1 - Wellington's 2009 Dragonboat festival featured the usual elements seen in previous years. I caught a half hour of racing at the end of Saturday. This is a curious event to photograph, and it can be difficult to come up with unique compositions - but check out some excellent efforts from fellow Wellington photographers Karim Sahai, Pooria Koleni, and Alan Raga.

Offshore Powerboats (Round 5 - Wellington)
1 - The 2009 edition of the NZ Offshore Powerboat race around Wellington Harbour seemed a little more subdued than previous years, perhaps the recession is to blame... Anyway, Cure Kids took a pretty handy win over Fairview Windows & Doors.
