Bridle Path Experiments

A bit of an experiment today, to see if the DX format Sigma wideangles I've used for the last few years can give reasonable results in FX format... Verdict? Well, the 10-20 doesn't quite cover the whole frame, but looks pretty good from 14mm upwards. The 30mm does some odd things at the corners, and looks a bit old school/ holga-ish, which might come in handy.

Just two matches today in the Louis Vuitton Trophy: Origin (UK) vs Artemis (SWE) and All4One (FRA/GER) vs Azzura (ITA) but some great viewing from North Head. Only 3 more days of racing to go, with the semifinals tomorrow.

I'll be out on the photo boat tomorrow, so it'll be great to catch some more on the water action.

Flight 7 of the Louis Vuitton Trophy series featured a classic match between Great Britain's Origin and Sweden's Artemis team - it was only resolved a few metres short of the finish line after a spectacular series of penalties.

ETNZ was cleaned out at the start, but caught up on the second downwind and passed ML going up the second beat. ML then broke their genoa halyard and it was all over.

The Louis Vuitton Trophy is running from 9-20 March in Auckland, with internet video streaming of all of the racing with expert commentary from NZ's own Peter Lester.
