I was a bit surprised to see one of the ex-RNZAF A4K Skyhawks sitting at Ardmore during the warbirds open
day. Sadly it is lacking its engine and avionics so it's life is decidedly more pedestrian these days.

NZ Warbirds Open Day 2012 @ Ardmore

The New Zealand Warbirds Association hosted an open day and air show at Ardmore, in commemoration of the 1944 D-Day landings in Normandy, France.

Boeing 787 Dreamliner in Auckland

Last Tuesday featured a visitation from the Boeing 787 dreamliner. I hurried up a convenient hill and took a few pics. A couple of city scapes from the same vantage point offered potential for a diptych - example.

Auckland Anniversary Day Regatta 2012

I braved the heat and bugs for a few hours out on North Head to catch a few shots of the action around the 2012 edition of Auckland's iconic Anniversary Day regatta. It turned out to be a bit disappointing compared to a previous effort photographing the Coastal Classic, but there were some interesting bits and pieces including Spirit of New Zealand and Breeze floating about the place.
